Salome Makharadze's NYC Fitness and Beauty Spots

1. Jivamukti yoga - "My first encounter with Jivamukti yoga was during a retreat in Costa Rica. Our teacher, Yogeshwari, taught in a classic jivamukti style and I was immediately hooked. The best feature of jiva yoga is the over abundance of hands on assists throughout the class so if you don't like to be touched this studio may not be for you. The teachers vary by personality and style but most classes have a consistent flow - some chanting, rigorous vinyasa flow, savasana and meditation. They have a yummy vegetarian cafe next door and a nice store for yoga clothes, books and natural cosmetics."

2. Sonic yoga - "I trained at this studio and I can't recommend it enough. Wonderful classes and community-like vibe. The owner, Lauren, is a bad-ass surfer who lives in Montauk. Her classes are amazing. Would also highly recommend Keith's classes. Most of his classes are for advanced students - nevertheless, he leads his class with a welcoming, "no nonsense" attitude which should be accessible to all."

3. Curlisto - "Finally there is a salon that specializes in curly hair! The salon is run by Christo. He is my annual haircut splurge and I am never disappointed after seeing him."
